Spanish Special Education Teacher - Chicago, IL

This contract opportunity is ideal for an experienced Special Education Teacher fluent in both English and Spanish, passionate about engaging students in grades 6-8, and seeking career consistency in a supportive junior high setting.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Special Education Licensure required
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
- Demonstrated success with students in 6th grade or above; junior high or high school experience strongly preferred
- Commitment to long-term placement and career consistency
- Track record of student-centered instructional approaches, prioritizing student growth and engagement
- Comfortable leading small classes (20 students or fewer)
- Effective communicator and collaborative team member
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver both group and individualized instruction in a junior high special education setting
- Support the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of diverse learners in English and Spanish
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student requirements
- Foster positive relationships with students and families to ensure educational success
- Collaborate with faculty and support staff to maximize outcomes for all learners
- Maintain comprehensive records and monitor progress effectively throughout the academic year
This position offers the chance to work onsite during the academic year, from August 17, 2026, through June 2, 2027, with a consistent weekly schedule (33.75 hours).
