Special Education Teacher - Chicago, IL

What You’ll Bring:
- Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 Endorsement (Illinois)
- Experience or strong interest in working with students with Intellectual Disabilities
- Familiarity with differentiated instruction and a variety of learning strategies
- Collaborative and patient communication skills to partner with related service providers and families
- Commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment
Your Core Responsibilities:
- Directly manage a self-contained classroom for 4th and 5th graders, providing individualized and group instruction
- Adapt the online curriculum to meet student needs, ensuring growth toward IEP goals
- Collaborate with occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and social workers for on-site service delivery
- Write and implement IEPs, conduct progress monitoring, and maintain effective documentation
