- Current LBS1 endorsement (required)
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education
- Prior experience in self-contained special education classrooms is highly preferred
- Ability to effectively teach, adapt, and differentiate instruction for students with varying needs
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage a self-contained classroom with elementary or middle school students (exact caseload varies)
- Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths and needs
- Adapt curriculum and instructional approaches for optimal student engagement and achievement
- Work collaboratively with families, general education teachers, related service providers, and administration
- Conduct progress monitoring, assessments, and timely reporting as required
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment that encourages growth and confidence
- Maintain documentation for compliance and contribute to IEP meetings
