Qualifications:
- Valid state certification in Special Education (required)
- Previous experience teaching or supporting students with IEPs preferred
- Knowledge of current best practices and legal requirements for special education services
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with staff, administration, and families
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet each student’s unique strengths and needs
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities
- Provide differentiated instruction in accordance with students’ learning profiles and goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure effective integration and support
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, challenges, and successes
- Maintain accurate and timely records, assessments, and documentation per school and state guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and team planning sessions
