Special Education Teacher in Cicero, IL
Step into a crucial leadership role as an IEP Coordinator, working full-time to champion students with special needs and their educational journeys. This contract opportunity is tailored for professionals adept at managing the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process, with a unique focus on case management and compliance—without the responsibilities of direct classroom instruction. The position is structured around a 30-hour workweek, providing the time and space to truly make an impact on student support systems.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Special Education certification (Birth–21 preferred, but all certifications considered)
- Prior experience as a Case Manager, IEP Coordinator, ARD Facilitator, or similar special education support role
- Familiarity with Embrace and Chicago Public Schools (CPS) IEP systems strongly preferred
- Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills
- Proven ability to coordinate meetings, manage deadlines, and maintain accurate records
Primary Responsibilities:
- Schedule and lead IEP meetings, collaborating closely with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Serve as the communication link between staff, families, and external partners involved in the IEP process
- Ensure all IEP documentation is thorough, compliant, and completed within required timelines
- Maintain and organize student records, tracking special education processes and deadlines
- Partner with district staff to uphold state and federal special education standards
- Manage documentation and workflow using district IEP platforms
- Support all aspects of case management to ensure the smooth, compliant execution of special education procedures
Take this opportunity to focus your skills on elevating the special education process, ensuring every student’s plan is seamlessly coordinated and supported. If you excel in case management and thrive in a detailed, compliance-driven environment, we invite you to apply and make a meaningful difference.
Compensation for this position ranges from $33.05 to $53.05. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
