Special Education Teacher in Cicero, IL
This is an exciting full-time contract opportunity for a dedicated Special Education Teacher ready to make a difference in the upcoming school year. The position will begin August 14th and is located in a supportive environment serving a caseload of just 15 students, with only a small number on IEPs. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with a diverse group of learners and collaborate with a passionate team of educators committed to student success.
Desired Skills & Certifications:
- Valid Illinois teaching certification in both General Education and Special Education (open to candidates with pending certification)
- Experience working with IEPs and individualized learning plans
- Strong classroom management skills and a student-centered approach
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities for teamwork with colleagues and families
- Adaptability and enthusiasm for fostering inclusion in the school community
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to students in accordance with general education and special education mandates
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
- Track student progress and maintain thorough documentation as required
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to create optimal learning environments
- Support students’ diverse abilities, adapting lessons to meet individual needs
