Special Education Teacher in Cicero, IL
Step into a pivotal role supporting young learners by guiding early childhood special education services. As a Special Education Case Manager and Instructional Coach in a dynamic school environment, you’ll collaborate with a dedicated team to improve educational outcomes for students with disabilities. This full-time, contract opportunity promises impactful work during traditional school hours (32.5 hours weekly), with the assignment running through May 27, 2027.
Leverage your expertise to foster inclusive practices, facilitate Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, and coach special education staff—making a real difference in students’ lives from PreK through age 22. You’ll work closely with building administrators, instructional coaches, and student services leaders to maintain compliance with federal and state requirements, while supporting high-quality instruction throughout the continuum of services.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree required.
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Special Education endorsement (PreK - age 22).
- Minimum of three years’ experience in special education, with an emphasis on early childhood settings.
- Strong understanding of federal and state special education regulations.
- Proven success supporting or coaching instructional staff.
- Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as case manager for students, facilitating and ensuring implementation of IEPs.
- Coordinate and lead IEP meetings, supporting compliance and documentation.
- Model and coach evidence-based instructional strategies for special education staff.
- Collaborate with administrators and educators to expand inclusive practices and services.
- Monitor student progress and provide recommendations for instructional improvement.
- Maintain records in alignment with district, state, and federal expectations.
