Special Education Teacher - Cicero, Illinois

This contract role involves working with a resource caseload of 8-10 students in grades K-4. Your responsibilities will be balanced between direct instruction in a pull-out setting and push-in support in general education classrooms, ensuring that each student receives the individualized attention and encouragement they need.
Qualifications and Experience Sought:
- Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement required
- Candidates holding a comparable out-of-state license are encouraged to review the ISBE Educator Licensure Information System (ELIS) for Illinois licensure steps
- Experience teaching or supporting students with diverse learning needs in elementary settings
- Strong skills in differentiated instruction and collaborative classroom support
- Ability to develop and implement IEP goals for academic and social/emotional growth
- Commitment to a positive, inclusive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and intervention to students in both pull-out and push-in models
- Collaborate effectively with general education staff, related services, and families
- Monitor progress and update IEP documentation as required
- Foster a supportive, student-centered learning community
This is a contract, full-time position: Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week, with a 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute unpaid breaks daily. The focus is solely onsite, fostering in-person engagement and teamwork.
