Special Education Teacher | Cleveland, Ohio
Step into a valuable opportunity for the 2026-2027 school year as a Special Education Teacher at a supportive district near Cleveland, OH. This contract role requires two skilled educators ready to make a difference in specialized classrooms. Starting August 24, 2026, and concluding June 7, 2027, you’ll contribute to student growth and well-being in a single building, keeping your focus and energy centered.
Your assignment will either be with a classroom serving 9-12 students with multiple disabilities—including autism, non-verbal needs, and physical impairments—or with a classroom of 10-15 students presenting emotional disabilities, where behavioral intervention plans and social-emotional instruction are pivotal. Both roles offer the chance to build strong, positive routines with your students while collaborating closely with other dedicated professionals.
Qualifications & Experience
- Must hold current licensure as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience with MD (Multiple Disabilities) and/or ED (Emotional Disabilities) populations is highly preferred
- Familiarity with behavior intervention plans, crisis intervention strategies, and adaptive curriculum
- Commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive, and proactive classroom environments
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction tailored to the needs of students with disabilities
- Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and families
- Design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Employ evidence-based interventions and adaptive tools
- Engage in crisis prevention and support de-escalation as needed
