Special Education Teacher | Witten, South Dakota

Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education certification required
- Experience teaching elementary-aged students, particularly in special education settings
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals and other staff
- Strong classroom management and organization skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Familiarity with developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for students in grades 2-4
- Work one-on-one and in small groups to provide targeted academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support
- Partner with a classroom paraprofessional to maximize student participation and success
- Assess, monitor, and document student progress toward IEP goals
- Communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary team members
- Create a positive, welcoming environment where every child feels valued and included
