Multiple Special Education Teacher Openings – Northwest Columbia, SC
Location: NW Columbia, South Carolina Area
Position Type: Full-time, school-based contract
Setting: In-person
A school district in the Northwest Columbia area is seeking multiple Special Education Teachers to join its team. This is a great opportunity for educators looking to work in a supportive school community while serving students across elementary, middle, and high school grade levels.
Current assignments include:
- Middle school self-contained positions
- High school resource position
- Elementary school self-contained position
- Additional special education openings based on district needs
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs
- Provide direct instruction in self-contained or resource classroom settings
- Modify lessons, assignments, and instructional materials based on student needs
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and multidisciplinary team meetings
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related-service providers, administrators, and families
- Support students’ academic, behavioral, social, and functional development
- Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field
- Active South Carolina teaching license with an appropriate Special Education certification preferred
- Active out-of-state teaching licenses are accepted for consideration
- Candidates with an out-of-state license must be eligible to obtain the appropriate South Carolina teaching certification
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs
- Experience working in self-contained or resource classroom settings preferred
- Strong classroom-management, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams
