Ideal Experience & Qualifications:
- Current Special Education Teacher license or eligibility to be licensed
- Expertise in implementing IEPs and adapting curriculum for diverse learners
- Knowledge of evidence-based interventions for elementary-aged students
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teaching assistants, school staff, and families
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
- Passion for supporting children with exceptional needs
Essential Responsibilities:
- Teach core subjects and foundational skills to a class of ten students in a separate setting
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each child’s strengths and needs
- Collaborate with two teaching assistants to deliver high-quality, individualized instruction
- Monitor progress toward IEP goals and maintain accurate documentation
- Foster a supportive, structured classroom environment that encourages independence and growth
- Communicate regularly with families, therapists, and other team members to ensure consistent, comprehensive support
