Special Education Teacher - Corning, NY
Step into a contract opportunity supporting high school students in a structured and rewarding environment. This position involves working onsite as a Special Education Teacher (or Teacher's Assistant or long-term substitute) within an 11th/12th grade ED classroom for up to 12 weeks, starting September 8, 2026. The role provides essential classroom instruction and support, helping students work toward their academic and emotional goals.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid New York State Teaching License with high school (HS) endorsement
- Relevant certifications required for an ED (Emotional Disturbance) classroom setting
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs
- Experience in high school special education, preferably in an ED environment
- Strong communication, adaptability, and collaboration skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver instructional support to 11th and 12th grade students in a high school ED classroom
- Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet students’ individual needs
- Work collaboratively with school staff, administration, and families to foster student success
- Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and follow required documentation standards
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, professional development, and required trainings
- Uphold a safe and supportive classroom culture for all learners
This contract role offers a consistent schedule of 32.5 onsite hours per week, providing an opportunity to engage directly with students and make a direct impact in their academic journey.
