Key Qualifications:
- Current Illinois Special Education Teaching License (IL SPED License required)
- Prior experience working in self-contained classrooms or Early Childhood Special Education programs strongly preferred
- Ability to effectively manage paperwork and participate in documentation and team meetings
- Flexibility to float between classrooms and cover varying schedules as needed
- Familiarity with district or state requirements, such as PEL or Para Certification, is a plus
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver quality instruction and provide individualized support to students in self-contained settings
- Implement IEPs and adapt materials to meet diverse learning needs
- Participate actively in Monday paperwork/meeting days for documentation and collaboration
- Serve as a float substitute teacher within the ECSE program when available
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and administrators to ensure consistent student growth
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture that meets the unique needs of every learner
