Ideal background and experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification.
  • Demonstrated experience working with students in a special education setting, preferably at the middle and/or high school level.
  • Ability to manage a classroom with diverse learning needs, adapting instruction for various abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with students, staff, and families.
  • Collaborative mindset for working closely with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and administrators.
  • Solid understanding of IEP processes and compliance.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and small-group instruction to students in a self-contained environment.
  • Manage classroom routines, ensuring a supportive and structured space for learning.
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals to maximize student engagement and support.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals in coordination with the student support team.
  • Communicate regularly with families, updating on progress and celebrating achievements.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices.

You'll be working a consistent 37.5-hour week, Monday through Friday, which allows you to focus on making a real difference in your students’ academic and personal growth.
