Qualifications & Preferred Experience
- Valid North Carolina Special Education License is required
- Appropriate credentials/certifications in Special Education
- Prior experience working with high school students
- Background in managing behavioral challenges is highly valued
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Passion for individualized instruction and student advocacy
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students on your caseload
- Deliver instruction tailored to a variety of learning styles and abilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and specialists to support inclusion and student progress
- Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet students’ unique needs
- Foster a positive, respectful, and safe classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student objectives, progress, and challenges
- Employ evidence-based behavioral support strategies when needed
