Special Education Teacher in Cuyahoga Falls, OH

This contract opportunity runs from August 24, 2026, through June 7, 2027, and offers rewarding experiences supporting diverse learners in one dedicated building. You’ll have the chance to work with either a classroom for students with multiple disabilities (MD) or a group focused on emotional disabilities (ED), all in an encouraging and collaborative educational environment.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Valid state licensure in Special Education (must be presented for consideration)
- Previous experience with students with multiple disabilities, autism, non-verbal communication, or physical impairments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of and experience in implementing behavior intervention plans (BIPS), crisis intervention, and social-emotional instruction for students with emotional disabilities
- Ability to adapt and modify lessons to suit individual student needs
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a classroom of 9-12 students with multiple disabilities or 10-15 students with emotional disabilities
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Foster an inclusive, supportive atmosphere where every student can thrive academically and socially
- Collaborate with general educators, therapists, and families to ensure comprehensive student support
- Utilize data-driven strategies and interventions to address each learner’s unique challenges
- Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings and staff discussions
You’ll be based in one building—with placements at either a middle or primary school—which fosters consistency and allows you to build strong, lasting relationships with your students and colleagues.
