Special Education Teacher in Dallas, TX

You’ll be directly supporting one campus, focusing on either life skills, autism, or behavior classrooms depending on your strengths and preferences.
In this role, you could be placed at Rutherford Elementary or Mackey Elementary in a Total Language Classroom (self-contained, small group rotation model), or at JR Thompson Elementary supporting life skills students. This is an ideal position for those passionate about fostering academic and social growth among elementary-aged learners.
Qualifications:
- Accredited bachelor’s degree required
- Valid Texas Special Education (EC-12) certificate
- Recent fingerprinting through TEA, or the ability to complete new fingerprinting prior to start (clearance required)
- Experience with diverse elementary special education populations, including life skills, autism, or behavioral needs, preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities with staff, students, and families
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction in small, self-contained classrooms
- Adapt curriculum and strategies to meet varied student needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff for inclusive programming
- Monitor, document, and report on student progress
- Contribute to IEP development and implementation
