Make a significant impact by supporting students as a Special Education Teacher at an elementary school in the Dallas, TX area. You’ll provide essential educational services within a full-time, on-site contract role for the 2026–2027 school year, collaborating with a dedicated staff to help students succeed. Opportunities are available to support a variety of specialized classrooms, including life skills, autism support, inclusion settings, behavior classrooms, and a medically fragile unit. You’ll work exclusively at one elementary school site, with assignments tailored to specific caseload needs and your preferred expertise.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Active Texas Special Education (EC-12) teaching certificate
- Flexibility and passion for working in specialized classroom environments (e.g., inclusion, behavior, autism, medically fragile)
- Previous experience in special education strongly preferred
- Ability to collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals, nurses, and other related service providers
- Must complete Texas Education Agency fingerprinting requirements (unless previously cleared for public school assignments)
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction based on each student’s abilities and needs
- Foster an inclusive, positive classroom environment supporting social and academic growth
- Communicate effectively with families, staff, and district specialists
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold confidentiality of student records
- Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and administration
