Step into a meaningful role supporting elementary learners as a dedicated Special Education Teacher in the Dallas area. This is a full-time, contract opportunity where you’ll help shape the future for students in self-contained classrooms specializing in life skills, autism support, or behavior interventions. Multiple positions are available, and you’ll be placed at one elementary school site with a specific caseload tailored to your expertise and preference.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Valid Texas Special Education (EC-12) teaching certificate required
- Recent fingerprint clearance through the TEA (or willingness to complete this process prior to start)
- Experience or strong interest working in life skills, autism, or behavioral classroom settings
- Adaptability and collaborative mindset to work effectively within specialized teams
What You’ll Do:
- Support a cohort of students in a self-contained classroom, utilizing small group rotations and individualized interventions
- Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) addressing each student’s unique learning goals
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive environment that encourages student growth and independence
- Collaborate with parents, related service providers, and school staff to support students’ academic and social development
- Regularly monitor, document, and communicate student progress, making data-driven adjustments as needed
