Special Education Teacher | Dalton, Georgia
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting students in a dynamic and collaborative educational environment near Dalton, GA. This position offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students while working with a manageable caseload and enjoying the backing of an experienced support team.
You will work a consistent, full-time schedule, dedicating 40 hours per week (Monday through Friday) to foster success for a caseload of approximately 12-15 students. The specific age group will be determined based on program needs, providing you with the flexibility to showcase your expertise across a variety of student populations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid GA Special Education Teaching license
- Current GA PSC certification
- Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans to meet students’ unique needs
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as necessary
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families
- Maintain accurate student records and documentation in accordance with school and state requirements
- Actively participate in IEP meetings and student conferences
- Foster a positive, respectful classroom environment where all students feel valued
