Special Education Teacher - Dalton, GA

Candidates should bring compassion, patience, and a strong background in special education to support students who are in the midst of toilet training, may require assistance with feeding, and are often non-verbal or minimally verbal. Your expertise will play a vital role in creating structured, supportive routines and helping students achieve important developmental milestones.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid GaPSC Teaching Certificate with both Special and General Education Endorsements for Pre-K age groups
- Experience as a Special Education Teacher or Paraprofessional, particularly with early childhood or Pre-K populations
- Strong understanding of best practices for working with children requiring intensive behavioral and physical support
- Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists and support staff
- Skilled in implementing individualized education plans and tracking student progress
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction and care for a diverse group of Pre-K students with varying developmental needs
- Assist with toileting, diapering, and feeding as required
- Support communication goals for non-verbal or low-verbal students
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages participation and growth
