Middle School Special Education Teacher in Dearborn, MI

Key Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Special Education endorsement, along with credentials in ELA and Math
- Demonstrated expertise in IDEA, MARSE, and IEP compliance
- Experience providing differentiated instruction, interventions, and progress monitoring in ELA/Math for middle school learners
- Background managing IEPs, evaluations, accommodations, and behavior plans
- Skilled at collaborating with general educators, paraprofessionals, and families
- Passion for fostering a positive and inclusive classroom culture
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging ELA and Math instruction tailored to students’ individual learning goals
- Implement effective instructional strategies, interventions, and accommodations as outlined in IEPs
- Oversee a caseload of students—conducting IEP meetings, completing evaluations, and ensuring documentation remains compliant
- Develop and carry out behavior plans when needed, tracking progress and communicating with stakeholders
- Participate in resource/inclusion initiatives, collaborating regularly with the school team
- Fulfill a 36.25-hour workweek (8:05 AM–3:05 PM schedule, plus 15 minutes duty time before or after school)
