What We’re Looking For:
- Active Michigan Teaching Certificate with one of the following endorsements: SM, SE, SA, or SV
- Master’s degree plus Teacher Consultant Approval, or at least three years of successful special education teaching experience in Michigan
- Thorough knowledge of IDEA, MARSE, and all stages of the IEP process
- Experience supporting IEPs, 504 plans, Multidisciplinary Evaluation Teams (METs), evaluations, and MTSS/process monitoring
- Demonstrated ability to consult and work collaboratively with teachers, staff, administrators, and families
- Strong skills in providing student interventions, behavior support, and ensuring special education compliance
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support for IEP and 504 development, MET activities, and evaluation processes
- Offer expert consultation services to teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams on best practices in special education
- Implement student-centered interventions and monitor academic, behavioral, and social progress
- Assist with MTSS implementation and progress tracking
- Ensure ongoing compliance with state and federal special education requirements
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative school culture focused on inclusion and student success
