Role A consists of teaching elementary-level life skills to a small, focused caseload (K-2nd grade with 4 students), while Role B follows as a high school life skills assignment (serving 5 students), beginning in November for a maternity leave period. Candidates with a strong foundation in special education and life skills instruction are highly desired. If you have the ability and availability to serve both assignments, your expertise will be especially valued through the end of the school year.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher credential/certification (as required by state)
- Demonstrated experience in special education, with a focus on life skills programs
- Previous experience in elementary and/or high school settings highly preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Collaborative approach with educators, therapists, and families
Duties:
- Full-time instruction (7:15 am – 3:30 pm) in a structured classroom setting
- Deliver life skills-focused curriculum to small caseloads ensuring individualized support
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in conjunction with school teams
- Provide adaptive and differentiated instruction based on student needs
- Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with families and staff
- Adapt to changing assignments as needed
