Special Education Teacher | Denver, Colorado

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners as a Bilingual Early Childhood Special Education professional working with a collaborative team dedicated to inclusive and equitable education. In this contract-based role, you’ll participate in child find evaluation efforts at multiple elementary schools, helping to identify and support children’s developmental needs while working in partnership with families and colleagues.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive bilingual Child Find evaluations at North Star Elementary, Centennial Elementary, and additional district sites as needed
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on district-level assessments and eligibility determinations
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for early childhood students based on evaluation outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation and reports aligned with district and state requirements
- Foster positive relationships with students, families, and educators to support holistic child development
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- CO Department of Education Teaching License with Early Childhood SPED endorsement (required)
- Bilingual proficiency to effectively communicate and conduct assessments in both English and another language
- Experience with early childhood education and/or special education evaluation processes
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
- Familiarity with IEP development and Child Find procedures
Additional Details:
- Assignment runs from the start date through May 21, 2027
- Full-time schedule: 37.5 hours per week, serving two or more elementary schools
- Contractor packet must be completed prior to assignment start
