Special Education Teacher - Des Plaines, Illinois

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education (appropriate to K-8th grade)
- Experience or training with resource and/or self-contained classrooms
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with parents, peers, and administrators
- Enthusiasm for fostering an inclusive, encouraging classroom atmosphere
- Ability to design and implement differentiated instructional strategies
- Experience with IEP processes and progress monitoring is highly valued
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized instruction in accordance with IEP goals
- Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Maintain accurate records and provide updates regarding student progress
- Engage families as partners in the educational process
- Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all learners
