In this travel role, you will help shape the lives of middle school students as a Special Education Teacher in the BEST (Behavioral and Emotional Supported Teaching) classroom—a self-contained setting designed for 6th to 8th graders. Collaborate with passionate educators, further develop your skillset, and positively impact students’ academic and emotional growth.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching credentials (state certification required)
- Experience with middle school students (grades 6-8) preferred
- Background or passion for supporting students with behavioral and emotional needs
- Ability to collaborate with instructional teams and families
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Responsibilities / Duties:
- Lead instruction in a self-contained BEST classroom for grades 6-8
- Manage a caseload of 9-10 students with behavioral/emotional support needs
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment
- Collaborate with school staff, behavioral specialists, and parents
- Maintain detailed documentation and progress reports
