This full-time contract opportunity runs through June 2027 and is located in the vibrant Detroit metro area. You'll have the satisfaction of collaborating across teams to deliver high-quality, student-centered services for learners with diverse needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold an active Michigan Teaching Certificate with SM, SE, SA, or SV endorsement
- Master’s Degree and Teacher Consultant Approval, OR at least 3 years of successful Special Education teaching experience in Michigan
- Comprehensive understanding of IDEA, MARSE, and the IEP process
- Experience with IEPs, 504s, METs, evaluations, MTSS, and progress monitoring
- Excellent ability to consult and communicate with teachers, administrators, related service teams, and families
Position Responsibilities:
- Support the development and implementation of IEPs, 504 plans, and participate in Multidisciplinary Education Teams (METs)
- Collaborate as a resource for teachers and administrative staff, offering expertise in compliance, best practices, and instructional adaptations
- Conduct student evaluations, monitor progress, and provide targeted interventions
- Deliver behavior support and facilitate appropriate accommodations within the classroom environment
- Serve as a key partner in promoting a positive, compliant, and inclusive school atmosphere through effective consultations
