Special Education Teacher - Dorchester, Massachusetts

In this full-time, onsite contract position, you'll have the opportunity to foster growth and achievement for young learners in a supportive and energetic school environment. The workday is structured from 8:00AM to 2:30PM, offering a predictable schedule and the chance to build meaningful connections with your students.
Essential Qualifications:
- Active MA teaching license/certification in Moderate or Severe disabilities (required)
- Demonstrated school-based experience working as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience supporting students with developmental delays or intellectual impairments strongly preferred
- Commitment to comprehensive student-centered support and inclusive practices
- Familiarity with CORI background checks and fingerprinting; ability to submit a letter of suitability from a prior employer for fingerprints may be acceptable
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with staff and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths and needs
- Employ a range of instructional techniques to engage students and promote learning
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods as needed to ensure success
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support students’ academic, social, and emotional growth
- Participate in meetings, professional development, and family conferences
- Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations
