Position Details:
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
- Elementary self-contained classrooms serving K-5 students
- Classrooms supported by paraprofessionals
- Students exhibit a range of mild to moderate and moderate to severe behavioral needs
Qualifications:
- Valid certification/license as a Special Education Teacher (state requirements apply)
- Experience working with elementary-aged children, particularly in self-contained or specialized settings
- Strong behavioral management skills and ability to implement individualized interventions
- Commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive, and positive classroom environments
- Adaptability, communication, and collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and behavioral interventions to elementary students
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with the IEP team
- Maintain a well-organized, structured, and nurturing classroom
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals to maximize student support
- Engage in parent communication, data collection, and progress monitoring
