Qualifications & Experience:
- Certified as a Special Education Teacher
- Previous experience in a school setting, ideally with elementary-age students
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Exceptional communication skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to design and adapt instructional materials to meet diverse learning needs
- Solid classroom management strategies
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students in a self-contained setting, adapting lessons for various learning styles
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Foster a supportive and structured classroom environment where every student feels safe and empowered
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to enhance student outcomes
- Engage regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to annual reviews and meetings
