Special Education Teacher in Eden Prairie, MN
Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by providing specialized instruction and support across diverse educational settings. This contract role, commencing ASAP through June 11, 2026, offers opportunities to teach students in Autism, Early Childhood Special Education, Developmental Cognitive Disabilities, and homebound contexts. You’ll be working exclusively on-site, shaping the daily experiences of students who benefit from expertise and compassion.
Openings exist in multiple locations for a total of seven Special Education Teachers, each with unique caseloads ranging from 4 to 19 students, including students on the autism spectrum, those needing itinerant support, and special education homebound services. Positions are based in settings 1, 2, 3, and 4, with some roles focused on ASD/DCD classrooms.
Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota teaching license required—candidates must meet all state requirements for SPED roles.
- Previous experience teaching special education students, particularly those with autism spectrum disorders, developmental cognitive disabilities, or early childhood special education needs, is highly preferred.
- Adaptability to varied educational environments, including itinerant, traditional classroom, and homebound instruction.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to connect with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to maintain organized records and implement individualized education programs (IEPs).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction to students based on IEP goals.
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with support teams.
- Maintain regular communication with families, staff, and administrators.
- Adapt classroom strategies and materials for diverse learning needs.
- Participate actively in school meetings and professional development.
