Special Education Teacher - Eden Prairie, Minnesota
An exciting opportunity awaits passionate educators with expertise in special education! This contract role is perfect for those who wish to make a profound difference in the lives of students. Several long-term substitute positions are available, all serving elementary and high school students in resource rooms and specialized settings. Start dates and caseloads vary, offering flexibility and variety throughout the school year.
Openings begin in September and span from short-term resource support to full-year placements in settings such as DCD (Developmental Cognitive Disabilities) and ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) classrooms. Assignments also include emotional and behavioral disorder (EBD) settings across elementary and high school levels, aligning with your interests and experience.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching license in Minnesota—substitute teaching licenses and all tiers accepted
- Previous experience supporting students with diverse learning needs in classroom settings
- Ability to adapt instruction and collaborate with school teams
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and encouraging learning environment
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students according to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Implement evidence-based teaching strategies and modify curriculum as required
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff
- Monitor and document student progress, updating goals as needed
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and parent communications
- Maintain compliant records and support a positive classroom culture
This is an in-person role, offering full-time hours—typically around 35 hours per week. Interview conveniently from home using Zoom before beginning your assignment on site. The duration and exact caseload will be determined based on building needs, providing room for professional growth and new experiences.
