Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching license for the state of Minnesota
- Proven experience or background supporting SPED students at the secondary level
- Knowledge of current IEP and 504 plan requirements and implementation practices
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to adapt instructional approaches to meet diverse learner needs
- Passion for empowering students and advocating for their educational journeys
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to resource students in grades 9-12
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to maintain compliance and meet student needs
- Provide direct instructional support in small group and one-on-one settings, focusing on unique learning goals
- Track and document student progress, making data-driven adjustments to interventions and learning strategies
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and other required school functions
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes confidence and academic achievement
