Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification in Minnesota
- Proven experience working with elementary-aged students
- Solid understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Ability to adapt and differentiate lesson plans for varied learning needs
- Strong communication and collaborative skills for building relationships with students, families, and faculty
- Compassion and patience supporting students with learning disabilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging, effective instructional plans tailored to 5th grade students with learning disabilities
- Administer assessments and use data to monitor student progress, shifting strategies as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to facilitate inclusion and maximize student success
- Write, review, and update IEPs in partnership with multidisciplinary teams
- Provide a structured, positive learning environment that fosters confidence and independence
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student achievements, challenges, and strategies for support
