Special Education Teacher - Edwards, Colorado
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting early learners as a Special Education Teacher near Edwards, CO. With two positions available and assignments across multiple sites, you’ll make a meaningful difference in PreK classrooms, working with caseloads of 10-20 students. This is a full-time role (40 hours/week, 7:30 AM–3:30 PM) from August 10, 2026, through May 28, 2027, offering you the chance to guide young children’s foundational growth during the academic year.
This position is focused on delivering highly individualized support, fostering social, emotional, and academic development for early childhood students with diverse learning needs. Your expertise in special education will shape these students’ first experiences in the school setting.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification (required)
- Demonstrated experience with early childhood or PreK age groups highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices for students with disabilities
- Ability to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to diverse learning styles
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for partnerships with fellow educators, support staff, and families
- Commitment to inclusive, supportive classroom environments
- Multiple-site flexibility based on strengths and caseload needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and track Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide direct instruction and interventions tailored to student abilities and goals
- Collaborate with team members to support inclusive practices and positive classroom climates
- Engage families in the educational process and provide ongoing updates
- Document student progress and participate in evaluation and planning meetings
This is an on-site opportunity across multiple district locations (remote/virtual teaching not available).
