Make a meaningful difference as a Special Education Teacher working with students who have Developmental Cognitive Disabilities in a supportive elementary school environment. This on-site contract opportunity offers the chance to support a dedicated caseload of approximately 9 students, allowing you to individualize instruction and interventions while collaborating with a close-knit educational team.
Position Details:
- Contract position beginning late August 2026 through early June 2027
- Monday through Friday schedule, with 37.5 hours weekly (8:30 AM–4:30 PM, includes 30-minute unpaid lunch)
- Caseload focused on students with developmental cognitive disabilities
- Fully on-site at a welcoming and resource-rich elementary school
Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid Minnesota teaching certification (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required)
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with developmental cognitive disabilities preferred
- Commitment to developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Familiarity with special education compliance and best practices
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to foster a positive, inclusive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction tailored to each student’s unique needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
- Communicate progress and strategies with families and staff
- Utilize evidence-based methods to enhance student growth and development
- Maintain accurate records and ensure district and state compliance
