Key Qualifications:
- Current Minnesota Special Education Teaching Certification (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required)
- Proven experience working with students who have developmental cognitive disabilities or similar special needs
- Strong understanding of differentiated instruction, IEP processes, and adapting general education curriculum to suit individual learning needs
- Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills for working with students, families, and colleagues
- Ability to maintain detailed records, support goal-setting, and conduct ongoing progress assessments
Responsibilities:
- Manage and instruct a caseload of approximately 9 students with developmental cognitive disabilities
- Develop, implement, and track progress on individual education plans (IEPs)
- Employ engaging, differentiated instructional methods to meet cognitive and behavioral goals
- Partner with paraprofessionals, school staff, and families to foster a supportive, inclusive environment
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and advocacy for student needs
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation reflecting student progress and compliance requirements
