Special Education Teacher - Elk River, Minnesota
Embark on a dynamic opportunity supporting students with diverse needs in a specialized educational environment. This contract role focuses on providing high-quality special education services for a Setting 4 caseload, which encompasses students with the most significant behavioral challenges and severe disabilities. You'll be part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team serving elementary through high school students in a supportive and well-resourced center.
Essential Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota Special Education Teacher license (must be Tier 3 or Tier 4)
- Demonstrated experience supporting students exhibiting high needs and challenging behaviors
- Adaptability and strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with staff, students, and families
- Commitment to fostering positive learning environments for students with severe disabilities
- Willingness to provide tailored interventions and support across multiple grade levels
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) for a Setting 4 caseload
- Design and deliver instruction suited to the individual learning and behavioral needs of each student
- Collaborate with a team of educators, support personnel, and related service providers
- Track and report student progress in alignment with district and state requirements
- Communicate proactively with parents/guardians to ensure consistency in intervention and support
- Adhere to all compliance and documentation expectations
This role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with 37.5 hours per week, from September 25, 2026, through June 10, 2027. You'll gain invaluable experience working with some of the region’s most at-risk students, supported by a caring and knowledgeable team.
