Make a lasting impact by supporting young learners as a contract Special Education Teacher working in resource classrooms for both elementary and middle school students. This onsite opportunity offers a meaningful way to contribute to academic and social-emotional development in an engaging, student-focused environment. You’ll work collaboratively with dedicated professionals and have the resources needed to deliver individualized instruction and support for students with special needs.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility for certification)
- Classroom experience with students requiring IEPs, preferably in elementary or middle school settings
- Passion for fostering an inclusive, positive, and growth-oriented environment
- Strong communication and collaborative skills to work with general educators, families, and support staff
- Knowledge of current best practices in behavioral intervention, differentiation, and instructional strategies
- Ability to implement and track progress on individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Flexibility and organization to manage responsibilities across a dynamic school environment
Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering targeted instruction to students in resource classrooms, adapting materials and methods based on IEP goals
- Collaborating with school teams to develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and student progress
- Encouraging student independence, social skills, and academic achievement
- Maintaining accurate records and adhering to special education compliance standards
- Communicating regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and strategies for continued growth
- Participating actively in professional development and team meetings to support school-wide initiatives
This is a contract position beginning August 13, 2026, through May 27, 2027, with a 37.5-hour workweek. Use your skills to guide and inspire at either the elementary or middle school levels in a district focused on making a difference.
