Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted instruction to 3rd-grade students in both small group and inclusive classroom settings
- Develop, implement, and monitor student IEPs in line with state and federal guidelines
- Collaborate with general education teachers and staff to ensure effective inclusion practices
- Utilize various teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning needs
- Communicate regularly with families regarding students’ progress and goals
- Participate in IEP meetings, team collaborations, and professional development sessions
- Provide guidance to paraprofessionals, aligning support with student-specific IEPs
- Maintain accurate records and data tracking as required
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher in an elementary school setting preferred
- Strong understanding of individualized education programs and elementary curriculum
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to adapt instruction to diverse learning styles and needs
- Comfortable with a mix of pull-out and push-in service delivery
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment
This contract position runs from August 24th to May 28th, with an 8-hour workday plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Paraprofessional support is determined by student IEP needs, allowing for a collaborative environment focused on student success.
