Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification.
- Prior experience working with medically fragile or high-needs students preferred.
- Ability to deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons in a 1:1 setting.
- Familiarity with IEP goals and adapting curriculum to meet individual needs.
- Excellent communication skills with both students and support staff.
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach.
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 instructional support to a 7-year-old student in a nursing home for 2-3 hours daily.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to ensure safety and comfort.
- Adapt lesson plans to accommodate the student’s medical needs and stamina.
- Track and document student progress according to IEP requirements.
- Maintain an encouraging and supportive learning environment.
- Communicate regularly with family members and other professionals as needed.
