Special Education Teacher - Richmond, Missouri
Step into an impactful role as an Elementary Special Education Teacher supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a welcoming and collaborative K–5 environment, starting August 24, 2026. In this full-time contract position, you’ll work near Richmond, Missouri, with a focused caseload of 8–11 students, providing meaningful, individualized instruction and behavioral interventions. You’ll closely partner with 2–3 enthusiastic paraprofessionals and experienced school staff, all committed to enriching the educational experience of each child.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Missouri Special Education Teaching Certification or eligibility to obtain one
- Hands-on experience with students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Exceptional classroom management and adaptability to diverse learning profiles
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, fostering teamwork
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver evidence-based programming and IEPs tailored to each student
- Maintain detailed programming notebooks and use data-driven approaches to shape instruction
- Implement assistive technology, augmentative communication tools, and visual supports
- Design engaging, research-driven lessons that encourage student participation and progress
- Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments; create and execute Behavior Intervention Plans
- Supervise and mentor paraprofessionals within the ASD classroom setting
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and participate in relevant professional development
