An exciting contract opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher passionate about supporting high school students in their educational journey. Set in a dynamic 9th–12th grade community school environment, you'll play a vital role in shaping the success of learners who benefit from individualized instruction and behavioral support strategies.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota teaching license in EBD, ASD, or ABS (or eligible for out-of-field licensure support)
- Experience working with at-risk high school students
- Proven strengths in collaborating with educational teams, families, and support staff
- Expertise in developing and implementing behavior support plans
- Strong commitment to inclusive practices and differentiated instruction
Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction and support to students in grades 9–12, adapting materials and teaching methods as needed
- Develop IEPs and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state requirements
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to foster a supportive school environment
- Utilize effective behavior support strategies, promoting positive student engagement and growth
- Maintain regular communication with families and participate in IEP meetings
- Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and stay current on best practices
Schedule:
- Teacher hours: Monday–Friday, 7:15 am–3:15 pm (30-minute unpaid lunch)
- Student hours: 7:25 am–2:15 pm
- Contract dates: August 31, 2026, through June 4, 2027
