Key Responsibilities
Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications
Assess student performance and track academic, behavioral, and social-emotional progress
Differentiate instruction to meet the unique learning needs of each student
Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, administrators, and related service providers
Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and parent conferences
Implement positive behavior support strategies and classroom management techniques
Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with federal, state, and district regulations
Utilize data-driven instruction to support student achievement and learning outcomes
Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student success
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field
Active California Education Specialist Credential or eligibility to obtain licensure
Experience developing and implementing IEPs
Knowledge of IDEA, special education regulations, and best practices
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Ability to work effectively with students with varying academic, behavioral, and developmental needs
Preferred
Master’s Degree in Special Education or a related field
Previous school-based special education teaching experience
Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, emotional disturbances, or multiple disabilities
Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive instructional strategies
Experience with behavior intervention plans (BIPs), progress monitoring, and data collection
Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus
