What you bring:
- Valid certification or licensure as a Special Education Teacher
- Previous experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably within a school setting
- Knowledge of IEP processes and best practices in special education instruction
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with colleagues, students, and families
- Ability to create individualized instruction plans and adjust strategies to support diverse learners
- Organizational skills to manage caseload documentation and reporting requirements
What you'll do:
- Provide direct instruction and support for elementary students with a variety of learning needs
- Develop, implement, and track progress on individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, support staff, and family members to promote student growth
- Assess student abilities and modify instruction as needed to foster inclusion and success
- Maintain accurate, timely records and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Offer a positive, proactive classroom atmosphere where all students feel valued
