Desired Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts teaching certification in Moderate or Severe Disabilities (required)
- Previous experience supporting students in a school setting
- Experience designing and implementing IEPs for students with developmental delays or intellectual impairments
- Familiarity with elementary-level academic and functional life skills instruction
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and fellow educators
- CORI background check and fingerprint clearance required (letter of suitability from a previous role may be accepted)
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to 2nd and 3rd grade students based on IEP goals
- Adapt classroom materials and teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs
- Collaborate with general education staff, support personnel, and parents/caregivers
- Document student progress and participate in IEP meetings
- Utilize evidence-based interventions to foster student growth and independence
- Foster a welcoming and positive classroom culture that celebrates each child’s strengths
