An exciting opportunity awaits educators passionate about special education. A full-time contract role is available for an experienced Special Education Teacher to serve students in a supportive middle school environment. This position runs from as soon as possible through June 4, 2027, offering steady work throughout the academic year with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 7:15 am to 3:15 pm.
The role includes working within a self-contained, non-severe classroom setting at the middle school level, as well as supporting elementary resource students in grades K-5. The environment is collaborative, with a focus on fostering each student’s potential and providing individualized interventions designed to help them thrive.
Qualifications and Desired Background:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience with middle school and/or elementary resource settings
- Familiarity with IEP development and classroom accommodations
- Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Commitment to inclusive education and differentiated instruction
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students with a diverse range of needs in a self-contained classroom
- Case manage IEPs for assigned students, ensuring compliance and thorough documentation
- Develop meaningful, data-driven lesson plans tailored to student ability levels
- Maintain consistent communication with families, providing updates on student progress
- Work with a collaborative team to create a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment
- Participate in school meetings, professional development, and trainings as required
