Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active Special Education Teacher certification for Texas
- One of the following endorsements (aligned with grade level): Self Contained, Core Subjects, or Generalist
- Experience teaching or supporting students in life skills or functional academics environments
- Familiarity with FASE (Functional Academics/Skills Education) classroom settings is a plus
- Passion for student-centered instruction and differentiated teaching strategies
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s specific needs
- Employ adaptive instructional techniques and materials to facilitate academic, social, and life skills development
- Assess progress, document observations, and collaborate with educators and families to ensure consistent support
- Actively participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and provide input regarding student progress and intervention plans
- Support students with a range of abilities, ensuring a safe, respectful, and motivating classroom experience
- Maintain compliance with all district and state standards and reporting requirements
