What We’re Looking For:
- Valid Texas Special Education (EC-12) teaching certificate
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Experience working in special education settings, preferably at the elementary level
- Ability to manage self-contained classrooms focused on small group instruction
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment
As a valued team member, you will:
- Provide instruction for students in one dedicated elementary school throughout the school year (37.5 hours/week)
- Support the development and implementation of IEPs tailored to each student’s needs
- Collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and school nurses as needed
- Utilize small group rotations within centralized, self-contained classrooms
- Ensure that students participate in school-wide activities like Art, PE, and communal lunch
- Create a safe, structured, and positive classroom atmosphere
- Communicate regularly with families and school staff regarding student progress
- Complete timely documentation and participate in IEP meetings
